Se Peru 2010 på musikksmur's reisekart.

Vi er to venner, Elisabeth og Alf som har bestemt oss for å virkeliggjøre vår feriedrøm, og reise til Peru.
Vi reiser fra Oslo 1 Juli via Philadelphia og Miami hvor vi overnatter. Dagen etter reiser vi til Lima hvor 19 dagers tett program venter oss, før vi reiser tilbake til Miami hvor 5 sløve dager på beachen venter, før vi vender nesa hjemover.

DAY 1 LIMA PICK UP // JULY 02ND 2010

Pick up upon arrival and overnight at the hotel, in Miraflores, Lima and
overnight.
Accommodation: Mariel Hotel
Meals: None.

DAY 2: LIMA // JULY 03RD 2010

  • **************************************

Day at leisure by your own.
Hotel accommodation.
Accommodation: Mariel Hotel
Meals: Breakfast.

Day 3 PARACAS //JULY 04TH 2010

At 6:30 am transfer to the Bus station, at 7:30 am we will take the Royal
Class motor coach (best available) to Paracas (3 hours)
Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel, then excursion to Paracas of about 3 1/2
hours. Paracas is one of the best marine reserves, with the highest
concentration of marine birds. In the afternoon return to the hotel and
overnight

Day 4 BALLESTAS ISLANDS - NAZCA LINES // JULY 05TH 2010

At 7:15am transfer to the mole where you will take a motorboat excursion to
the Ballestas Island. This Islands are spectacular , eroded into numerous
arches and caves, which provide shelter for thousands of seabirds, some of
which are very rare, and seas lions. The islands are known as "the Galapagos
of Peru", at the end transfer to Nazca where we will admire the famous Nazca
lines. Cut into the stony desert are large number of lines, not only
parallels and geometrical figures, but also designs such as a dog, an
enormous monkey, a bird with a wing span of over 100 meters, a spider and a
tree. The lines, that represent some sort of vast astronomical pre-Inca
calendar, are best seen from the air, we will take a half hour flight above
the Lines then we will have a visit to the Chauchilla Cemetery, where
skulls, mummies and pottery shards littering the desert.
At 9:30 pm approx transfer to the Bus Station to take your Motor Cruz del
Sur
Class to Arequipa (Bus Ticket included)

DAY 5 AREQUIPA // JULY 06TH 2010

As soon our arrival to Arequipa you will be transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon around 3 pm you"ll
take the Arequipa half day city tour that includes the visit at the Santa
Catarina monastery. The city has fine spanish buildings and many old and
interesting churches built of sillar, a pearly white volcanic material
almost exclusevely used in the construction of Arequipa. The Santa Catalina
Convent is by far the most remarkable sight, opened in 1970 after 4
centuries of mistery. Overnight.

DAY 6 COLCA CANYON // JULY 07TH 2010

At 08:00 a.m. leave Arequipa towards nor west direcction behind snow-covered
Chachani, Yura, small valley with thermal springs, see wild vicu?as in Pampa
Ca?ahuas national reserve, Alpacas & llamas in Tocra, some bidrs like
flamingoes, ibis, andean gooze, ducks, andean eagle "Kara Kara" view point
of the Volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m. - 15,000
ft.). See the Ampato, Sabancaya, Walca Walca, etc. Chivay, capital of the
valley. Afternoon visit to the termal springs & pools in La Calera.
(Admission to the pools not included, about $4 per person). Overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 7 COLCA CANYON - AREQUIPA // JULY 08TH 2010

Early morning after breakfast leave for a full day excursion in the left
shore, beautiful tipical towns, like Yanque & Maca, colonial churches,
gently people with tipical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre inca terraces
still in use with andean growings like corn, qinua, kiwicha (Amaranto), etc.
Lookout of the cross of the condor: see the deep of the canyon and if we
have good luck we will see the flight of the Condor. Stone scale models,
some pre inca graves. Time for lunch. Return to Arequipa. (18:00 hrs.
approx. in Arequipa.) Overnight.

DAY 8 AREQUIPA - PUNO // JULY 09TH 2010

In the morning transfer to the airport to take flight to Puno
, upon arrival transfer to the hotel, rest of the day at leisure to
become acclimatized with altitude and overnight.
Accommodation: Qelqatani Hotel.
Meals: Breakfast.

DAY 9 UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS // JULY 10TH 2010

You will be picked up from your hotel at 6:40 a.m
Activities: Uros and Taquile Island Full Day
Accommodation: Qelqatani Hotel
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

DAY 10 PUNO - CUSCO // JULY 11TH 2010

Transfer to the bus station. The bus Inka Express departs from Puno at 7:30 a.m. and arrive to Cusco at 4:45 p.m.
Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.
Overnight.
Accommodation: Garcilaso I Hotel
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

DAY 11 CUSCO CITY TOUR // JULY 12TH 2010

Morning at leisure by your own.
Activities: Cusco City Tour starts between 1:15 - 1:45pm to 6.30pm .
Accommodation: Garcilaso I Hotel
Meals: Breakfast.

DAY 12 SACRED VALLEY TOUR // JULY 13RD 2010

(SHARED SERVICE: TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND SUNDAY)
Activities: Valley full day tour starts between 8:15 – 8:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Accommodation: Garcilaso I Hotel

DAY 13 PISKAKUCHO (KM. 82) - WAYLLABAMBA // JULY 14TH 2010

A spectacular early morning drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas
takes us to our trailhead at Km. 82 of the Machu Picchu railroad. After
getting acquainted with our trail crew we set out, crossing a footbridge to
hike a gentle two hours down the Urubamba canyon, and then visit imposing
sculpted Inca farming terraces and the settlement of Llaqtapata on the banks
of the Cusichaca side river. We then climb a short way up the Cusichaca
valley to Wayllabamba, the last inhabited village on the trail, where we
camp.
Meals: Lunch and dinner.

DAY 14 WAYLLABAMBA - PAKASMAYU // JULY 15TH 2010

We climb the steep-sided Llullucha valley past a rushing stream and through
enchanted native polylepis woodland. Crossing the rim of a small plateau, we
abruptly find ourselves in the puna, the treeless grasslands of the high
Andes. The trail traverses an open slope opposite mighty mountain crags as
we ascend to the first and highest pass, Warmiwa?usca (4,200m/13,776ft).
Here we encounter spectacular views of the trail ahead to the second pass,
and look back to the sweeping snowpeaks and valleys of the Huayanay massif.
The trail to the floor of the forested Pakasmayu valley, where we make camp.
Meals: Breakfast , lunch and dinner.

DAY 15 PAKASMAYU - WIÑAY WAYNA // JULY 16TH 2010

We pick up an Inca stairway and ascend again past the small Inca site of
Runkuracay. As we reach the second pass, the landscape opens onto
spectacular new views to the snowpeaks of the Pumasillo range. We descend to
the ruins of Sayacmarca (Inaccessible Town), an intricate labyrinth of
houses, plazas and water channels, perched precariously on a rocky spur
overlooking the Aobamba valley. The Inca trail, now a massive buttressed
structure of granite paving stones, continues along the steep upper fringes
of the cloud forest through a colorful riot of orchids, bromeliads, mosses
and ferns. At the third pass pinnacles topped with Inca viewing platforms
overlook the archaeological complex of Phuyupatamarca (Cloud-level Town).
Pausing to explore the wondrous maze of Inca stone towers, fountains and
stairways that spillins down the mountainside here, we begin a long descent
through ever-changing layers of cloud forest. An Inca stairway partly cut
from living granite leads us finally to our camp by the ruins of Wi?ay Wayna
(Forever Young), the largest and most exquisite of the Inca Trail sites.

DAY 16 WIÑAY WAYNA - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO // JULY 17TH 2010

An early morning hike takes us across a steep mountainside through lush,
humid cloud-forest of giant ferns and broad-leaf vegetation. Suddenly we
cross the stone threshold of Intipunku (Sun Gate) and encounter an
unforgettable sweep of natural beauty and human artistry -a backdrop of
twisting gorge and forested peaks framing the magical city of Machu Picchu.
We complete the final leg down the royal flagstone walkway, past outlying
shrines and buildings and into the heart of Machu Picchu, where we spend the
rest of the morning with a guided tour of the highlights and some individual
exploring among Machu Picchu"s multitude of hidden nooks and corners. In the
early afternoon a bus takes us to the small town of Aguas Calientes, where
we board our return train to Cusco.

DAY 17: TRANSFER TO LIMA // JULY 18TH 2010

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima .
upon arrival reception and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight.

DAY 18: LIMA CITY TOUR, GOLD MUSEUM / JULY 19TH 2010

In the morning Lima city tour, you will be picked up from your hotel at 9 AM
approx.
The city tour begins with the visit to the Plaza the Armas, which has been
declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Running along two sides are
arcades with shops: Portal de Escribanos and Portal de Botoneros.
In the centre of the Plaza is a bronze fountain dating from 1560. Located in
the Plaza is the Cathedral, note the splendidly carved stalls, the silver
covered altars surrounded by fine woodwork, mosaic covered walls bearing the
coats of arms of Lima and Pizarro. Next to the Cathedral is the Archbishop"s
Palace. Then you"ll visit the Monastery of San Francisco, this is famous for
the Sivillian tilework and panelled ceiling in the cloisters, the catacombs
under the church and part of the monastery are well worth seeing, You"ll
visit the old colonial streets in the centre of the city, and the modern
Lima with the district of San Isidro and Miraflores. We will also visit the
Peruvian Gold Museum; this excellent collection includes pre-Columbian gold,
silver and bronze, ceramics, weavings, mummies, etc. Upstairs is a
remarkable arms collections with an impressive exhibition from Spanish
colonial times.
Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

DAY 19: TRANSFER OUT / JULY 20TH 2010

You will be transfer from the hotel to the airport to take your
international flight. ( B)
